P50/P50H – This gathering foot produces a smock-like gather. The underside of this foot is designed so that only half of the foot makes contact with your machines feed dog and this causes a gather in the fabric as you sew.
It is recommended that you set your machine’s tension and stitch length to a slightly higher setting to help with the gathering effect. The P50 is used to gather layers of light to medium-weight fabric while the P50H is used to gather heavy fabric.
