How to make your bias:

Measure the width of the wide opening of the binding maker and cut out parallel cloth strips on the bias (i.e. at a 45° angle) using the measurement.
Cut the edge of your strip off at an angle for easy insert into the binding maker. Insert the tip of the cloth strip into the wide mouth, ensuring the wrong side of the fabric is facing upwards.
Use an awl to pull the cloth strip from the head of binding maker
Iron it into shape as it is pulled from the device, and you’re done
